Like most pet insurance companies, Embrace doesn’t cover everything. Here’s what’s not covered by Embrace:
- Pre-existing conditions
- DNA testing
- Breeding services
- Cosmetic procedures
- Injury or illness from neglect or fighting
- Breeding
Embrace is a good option for pet owners who want comprehensive options. They provide carts, wheelchairs, as well as dental care, and behavior therapy, which many pet insurance companies don’t.
Claims Process
Unlike accident and illness insurance plans, the Wellness Rewards coverage begins the day of purchase. However, it does not roll over and it’s non-refundable (outside of the 30-day refund policy).
You can make a claim after the following:
- 2 days for accidents
- 14 days for illnesses
- 48 hours for accidents
- Six months for orthopedic conditions or 14 days if you complete the Orthopedic Exam and Waiver Process
No claims will be reimbursable during the waiting period, even if your pet is in an accident. You also need to present a medical exam for your cat or dog within the previous 12 months prior to your policy, or within 14 days of signing. A medical exam is not required to acquire a policy, but it may be required for claim reimbursement.
Insurance Options
With Embrace, it’s important to choose the right plan. You cannot decrease your plan at any time after purchasing a policy, so it’s better to start with $250 rather than $650.
With Embrace, minimum deductibles start at $200 and are capped at $30,000 annually. You also owe a one-time enrollment fee and monthly installment fees if you don’t want to pay for the 12-month plan upfront.
Starting costs for Embrace plans begin at $6 per month for a cat and $12 for a dog, which is competitive pricing compared to other companies.
With Embrace, you have a 30-day money-back guarantee, as well as a $2 donation on every policy. They also offer a 10% multi-pet discount and a 5% military discount on their pet insurance plans. Just make sure you reach the terms and conditions of your policy before proceeding, so you know exactly what you owe.

Our Conclusion
Embrace is a great option for pet owners who have multiple pets in need of coverage. No matter the ages, each pet’s plan is individualized. However, it’s a good idea to review the terms and conditions of your policies, so you know exactly what’s covered, what’s not, and how much you’ll be paying.
With Embrace, you get a lot of add-on options that you can’t find at other pet health insurance companies. With an A+ rating from the BBB, it’s clear that Embrace pet insurance is worth considering.
